Apple has an extensive product lineup under its ‘iPad’ category. This includes four major series called iPad, iPad Air, iPad Mini, and iPad Pro. Last year, Apple upgraded its iPad to a new 10.2” model while iPad Air received an upgraded to 10.5” model. Then, the iPad mini got upgraded to 7.9” while the iPad Pro got 11” and 12.9” models. Is it confusing yet? Apparently, Apple is working on new iPads that will further confuse the enthusiasts.
According to the latest reports coming from an unnamed supplier, the Cupertino-based giant is working on the upcoming iPad Air 4 that will take the mold of an iPad Pro 11-inch. This means the upcoming iPad Pro is likely to sport a 11” display with narrow bezels around the edges and hopefully increase the screen size as well.
It will also get FaceID as per the reports while the lightning port may say goodbye and instead, it will sport a USB-C connector. If that’s not confusing at all, there’s an iPad mini in the making that will be upgraded to 8.5” display and will still retain a lightning port. This goes in-line with the prediction that God Ming Guo, a former analyst who made the claims earlier. He did mention that iPad mini could arrive in the first half of this year.
Next up, the new iPad mini will get Apple A13 Bionic chipset and the same will be used by iPad Air 4 while the speculated iPad (8th gen) which is expected to launch in the second half of 2021 is likely to sport an A12 processor. This will also make it a cheaper iPad to buy. Stay tuned on TechTantrum for more info.
