Google Maps introduces new bicycle-related features

Google Maps is actively updated almost every day. One of the latest updates which are arriving on Google Maps is the new bicycle navigation. Prompted due to the rapid increase in requests by cyclists around the globe that rose by 69%, Google updated its already robust biking-related features.

Google used the crowdsourced data, data collected after partnering with local governments and agencies as well as its AI algorithm to create the bicycle navigation feature in a few major cities around the globe. With these features, users will be able to use Google Maps to hurtle through bicycle lanes in their cities as well as pass-through Point A to B with bicycle-friendly streets and lanes.

One of the features that have been added is turn-by-turn navigation just like the one available with other means of transport such as by car or bike or public transport. With this feature, users will be able to travel places without losing their way in-between. Moreover, Google Maps is now deeply integrated with bike rental services. It allows users to rent out bikes stations as well as know the frequency of bikes available at any given station.

Google Maps has made it easier for users to book bikes and it is available in more than 20 major cities around the globe. The search engine giant has also made the booking process streamlined as well.
