Last year, Google launched Android Pie for Pixel devices on August 6 and soon, other OEMs began to roll out their customized version of Android Pie stacked on their OSes such as Huawei’s EMUI or OnePlus’ OxygenOS which took a few weeks to launch. Apparently, Huawei made it official by posting on Chinese social media site Weibo that it will roll out upcoming Android Q immediately after it is available for Google Pixel devices.
Huawei stated that it will roll out Android Q bundled with its highly customized EMUI for Huawei P30, P30 Pro; Honor View 20, Honor Magic 2; Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, and Mate 20X, immediately after Google sends out the update to Google Pixel devices via OTA.
Note that EMUI is highly customized from the stock Android which has raised a few questions considering how Huawei will work out the process of customizing the OS and rolling it out just days after Pixel owners receive it. Chinese OEM OnePlus is also in the contest of rolling out upcoming Android versions asap such as when it rolled out Android Pie in just over 40 days after Google Pixel devices started receiving the update.
On the other hand, Nokia is also among the few OEMs that have promised the masses that they will receive Android updates in a few weeks or months thanks to the fact that all Nokia smartphones are signed up in Android One program.
