OnePlus to teased the first-ever 5G gaming phone at MWC 2019

Get ready for the next big thing from the flagship smartphone maker OnePlus. It will showcase its first-ever 5G smartphone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 to be held in Barcelona.

Listed under the campaign ‘Connect and Communicate’, OnePlus invites attendees at the MWC 2019 to visit Hall 3 stand 3E10 where it will display the prototype of its first-ever 5G gaming smartphone. Yes, you read it right, OnePlus will display this gaming-oriented smartphone with 5G capabilities as it mentioned gaming rather ‘faster downloads/browsing’ to describe it.

Although we don’t know much about the device, it will feature a Snapdragon 855 chipset along with Qualcomm X50 modem needed to enable 5G on the device. Further, it will have several mmWave antennas mounted on it or it will use a circular plate similar to Motorola’s 5G capable smartphone that was teased a few weeks ago.

Moreover, the price is something you can expect to inflate at around $200 to $300 more than the base price for OnePlus 6T since 5G is expensive and this device will be horning it and plus, it is a gaming-oriented machine similar to Nubic Red Magic Mars and Asus ROG devices which means, you know why the device is extortionately priced.

Folks at XDA Developers states that the device will be launched as a OnePlus 5G prototype at the MWC 2019 and it is expected to sell in lesser volume than its predecessor. However, it will act as a precursor to the upcoming OnePlus smartphones with 5G network support.
