Last week, Oppo’s sub-brand Realme launched it’s yet another device i.e. Realme X2 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G much like Realme XT that was launched a few days earlier as well with a powerful 64MP sensor along with two chipset variants available. Realme is planning to roll out Realme X2 Pro which will be a successor to Realme X2 and will be the first phone from the Chinese smartphone maker to host the fastest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus that was first introduced by Asus ROG Phone 2 and soon it arrives on a bunch of phones including the latest OnePlus 7T.
The information concerning an upcoming Realme X2 Pro was purported by none other than Qu Xi Chase who is the Chief Marketing Officer at Oppo who posted on Weibo about an upcoming device with the code name Samurai or Super Warrier and also tagged an image of a Realme smartphone with the moniker “Realme X2 Pro Super Samurai” which is evidence that these two phones are the same. Thus, there is an upcoming Realme phone with the most powerful Snapdragon chipset till date and it is going to impact the pricing since Realme smartphones are pretty cheap when compared to any other mid-tier or budget smartphones.
To put things into context, the cheapest phone to get Snapdragon 845 (last year’s most powerful SoC) was Xiaomi Poco F1 and it was priced at around 20K INR. Comparing it with the latest chipset, SD855 Plus is just a few weeks old and an overclocked version of SD855 also launched earlier this week.
A different post by Derek Wang showcased that the upcoming device might have a massive display with a refresh rate of 90Hz since the teased image shows that it is dangling between 60Hz and 90Hz. Apart from that, the 64MP primary rear sensor and 32MP selfie camera are likely to stay.
Apart from that, Realme fans are rooting for a few other specs such as 65W VOOC Charge that Oppo teased a few days ago along with a colossal 4,500 mAh battery although these are just a few things that fans want and might not be the same that the company rolls out as well.
As Chase mentioned, this upcoming X2 Pro Super Samurai will give the Chinese subbrand a leap in a fierce competition between smartphone makers to get to the first position.
