For months, Samsung has been working on fixing the glitches and issues that the original review batch for Galaxy Fold uncovered. Originally slated to start shipping in May, Samsung completely redesigned the first-ever foldable smartphone and finally, the South Korean giant revealed it in earlier today in its home country. But it has since canceled all pre-orders from the US soon after its official reintroduction.
Yep, you read it right, Samsung has actually canceled pre-orders in the US that started as early as April 2019. Samsung sent out email reading why it is canceling pre-orders and it is limited to the US only. M. Brandon Lee who is a tech YouTuber posted a screenshot of an email he received from Samsung.
The email reads that Samsung is regretfully canceling the pre-orders made for Samsung Galaxy Fold as it wants to take some time to “rethink the entire customer experience”. Further, Samsung said that it wants to make their customers have the best experience of a revolutionary technology i.e. foldable smartphone that has come their way after years of development and thus, it wants to rethink every aspect of customer experience from unboxing to post-purchase service and further.
So Samsung canceled my pre-order for the Samsung Galaxy Fold…at least they gave me a $250 credit for anything on their store. That is admittantly quite generous.
I guess I should rejoin the pre-order queue. pic.twitter.com/Nv7OAIMxnN

Samsung added that it will include ‘Galaxy Fold Premier Service’ for the Galaxy Fold users where they can have access to experts from Samsung if they face any issues with their phone once it is shipped officially. As a token of appreciation, Samsung gifted $250 credits to all those who registered for pre-orders that they can actually spend on any product listed on Samsung’s online store and get a flat $250 off.
As per the timeline is concerned, Samsung reintroduced Galaxy Fold earlier today i.e. September 6 and it will go for sale in South Korea immediately as pre-orders started a few days ago. On September 18, France, Germany, Singapore, and the UK will get their hands on Samsung Galaxy Fold, however, the date revolving around its official US release is rumored to be September 27 although we will have to wait for Samsung to confirm it.
