Apple’s AirPods and Samsung’s Galaxy Buds have taken the world by storm with its truly wireless earbuds series. Apparently, Samsung is working on third earbuds that are speculated to arrive alongside Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series this year. What’s more interesting is that these TWS will be truly redesigned and we might have the first prototype for it as well.
The folks at WinFuture posted a 3D render of the so-called Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 designed to the shape of ‘beans’. Coincidentally, these upcoming buds are codenamed as ‘beans’ which gives the story a gravitas, to be honest. We have a few renders of the upcoming Galaxy Buds 2 that are likely to drop this August and it looks a bit weird.
These buds resemble the shape of kidney beans and there’s no adapter or silicone tip adjoined to it. As you can see in the renders below, the buds are kidney bean-shaped and can be inserted right into the ears while staying flush without protruding outside the ear like any AirPods or Galaxy Buds. Apparently, the lower part where there are no speaker grilles is sought to be inserted right into the ear canal while the upper part with ‘L’ and ‘R’ indicators and pogo pins can be seen is something that sticks out a bit but not enough to actually protrude outside the ears.
With no silicone tips or adapters, it will be pretty intriguing to see how the South Korean giant manages to keep it held in a place when people with varying eye sizes and shapes will make their purchases. There’s no speculations from Samsung or any other sources over Samsung Galaxy Buds specs either. The shown prototype render is sought to be under Engineering Validation Testing (EV1) phase and it is still unknown what these buds will offer or even if Samsung would scrap this prototype or actually let it roll out as an actual Samsung Galaxy Buds.
There’s also speculation that these bean-shaped buds will have fitness features such as heart rate sensors and will be able to pair up with either the smartphones or Samsung Galaxy Watch but that remains to be seen as well. Since these earbuds are speculated to arrive with Galaxy Note 10, we are still a few months away from the launch and amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, it remains to be found out how and when the South Korean brand works out the actual launch and sale. There’s no details on Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 release date either so we’ll have to wait to get more information about it.
