It seems like we are in for a treat since we already have two leaks based around the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 on the same day. Talking about the first one that The Korea Herald reported, two batteries have been discovered that are supported to be fitted on the upcoming Galaxy Fold successor.
Based on the images and what else we can confer, Galaxy Fold 2 will have two separate batteries as its predecessor although it will have different capacities. The first one bears model number EB-B701ABY which comes with a capacity of 900 mAh while the second bears model number EB-BF700ABY although with unspecified battery size.
This raises a lot of speculations around the second battery as it is believed to be of higher capacity given that Galaxy Fold had two batteries with 2,135mAh and 2,245mAh battery size respectively.
We have learned that the Galaxy Fold 2 is likely to hold model number SM-F700F and it will probably be a clamshell design foldable smartphone that’ll resemble much like Motorola Razr.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 price set at $845
The interesting bit of information that the Korea Herald has supplied is that Galaxy Fold 2 with a clamshell design will have a price tag of 1 million won or just $845. This is possibly to attract and engage masses towards foldable smartphones. Also, the South Korean giant is aiming to sell over 6 million foldable phones next year which means a price tag of just $845 will escalate its probability of getting a foldable phone dominance next year.
The said price tag for Galaxy Fold 2 is at least 1/3rd of what the first-gen Galaxy Fold was released at i.e. $2,000 and yet, Samsung managed to sell over one million units at this moment. Samsung is planning to outreach and expands to over 60 countries that will be able to get their hands on Galaxy Fold by February 2020.
With that being said, February 2020 seems like an appropriate time for Samsung to showcase its next-gen Galaxy Fold 2 as it is the time when it will showcase its flagship Galaxy S11 series that you can read about here. However, a different report claims a later date sometime in August when Galaxy Fold 2 could see the light when Galaxy Note 11 series will be announced although we will have to wait for an official commitment from the South Korean juggernaut.
Samsung isn’t gearing up for just one foldable phone next year but it has two foldable phones in the pipeline waiting to arrive next year so it will be great to see how Samsung does it all. Currently, Samsung has at least seven smartphones to release this month including Samsung Galaxy A11, Galaxy A31, Galaxy A41, Galaxy A51, Galaxy A71, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite, and Galaxy S10 Lite. Stay put to get more information on these devices and when they get officially released.
