We know that the Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro are incoming on October 16 when Huawei will hold its launch event in London. Successor the previous year’s Mate 10 series, Mate 20 series of smartphones have received a number of features and add-ons and yes, the most striking feature is its brilliant rear triple-camera setup arranged in a 2×2 square and yes, we might have the price tag with which, the Mate 20 Pro could be launched citing a recent leak occurred in Germany.
According to the report published on GSMArena, Huawei Mate 20 Pro with the base model of 128GB storage and 6GB RAM is said to be launched at £899 or $1,180. This marks Huawei entrance into the super expensive flagship smartphone which is £100 higher than the Huawei P20 Pro and almost £130 higher than the price tag for Huawei Mate 10 Pro. This marks the official entrance to the elite club consisting of Apple iPhones like iPhone X, XS, XS Max; along with Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+; LG V40 ThinQ, etc.
But believe it, Huawei Mate 20 Pro is truly a mesmerizing smartphone with brilliant design and aesthetic. As per what we know so far, it will have an edge-to-edge display with curved edges and a small chin. The device will have a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440×3120 pixels. It will have the new HiSilicon Kirin 980 octa-core chipset clocked at a maximum of 2.7 GHz frequency along with its flamboyant AI capabilities.
Along the back, the device sports a glass back with a unique triple-camera setup arranged in 2×2 square with dual tone LED flash. There are basically three different lenses i.e. a 40MP regular lens with an aperture of f/1.8 and 4 into 1-pixel technology for better picture quality. next, we have a 20MP telephoto camera with an aperture of f/2.4 and 5x optical zoom capability and finally, there’s an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera which forms it rear camera assembly. There are two NPU units that will work with the camera app to analyze the photos and videos and optimize it.
On the front, it has a 24MP camera along with an IR laser for facial recognition system housed in the perfectly calibrated notch and nothing like the infamous notch on Google Pixel 3 XL. The device has an under-the-display fingerprint scanner which is great for safety and reliability.
Finally, Huawei will introduce its Nano memory card format with the Mate 20 Pro where it won’t accept microSD card. The phone’s external memory can be escalated to 256GB using the nanoSD card. Finally, the most important aspect of a smartphone after display and SoC, camera, is its battery and thank god, Huawei will ship a humongous 4,200 mAh battery with the Mate 20 Pro will fast charging capability of up to 40W which is similar to Oppo’s Super VOOC charger. It can charge the phone from 0% to 70% in 30 minutes which is a feat achieved by Huawei.
At the last, the Mate 20 Pro has a IP68 water and dust resistance rating along with Bluetooth 5.0, NGC, dual-band-Fi, LTE, and other connectivity services. The smartphone will run on Android Pie 9-based EMUI 9.0 and it will be available in four different colors which are green, blue, black, and twilight.
Huawei Mate 20 will have a 6.43-inch AMOLED display boosting screen resolution of 1080×2224 pixels as per Gadgets Now. It will run on Android Pie 9.0-based EMUI 9.0 operating system and will have the powerful Kirin 980 AI octa-core SoC with two 2.6GHz A76 cores, two 1.9GHz Cortex A76, and four 1.8 GHz Cortex A55 cores. The device will have a standard 4GB RAM based by 128GB and 256GB RAM variant and will have a 4,000 mAh battery with hopefully 40W charger, the same as with Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
