Xiaomi 14 series launch in the global market lies in the hang. However, we are getting a lot of updates on yet another addition to the Xiaomi 14 fleet dubbed the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. One of the latest intel puts forth that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will sport an under-the-display front camera.
The folks at GSMChina spotted the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Ultra in Mi Code as well as the references to its under-the-display camera tech. The team also found out that Xiaomi 14 Ultra carries a codename “Xiaomi Suiren” and it reportedly has two models instead of one – the first has an under-the-display camera and another will pick up a normal front cam.
Xiaomi MIX 4 in 2021 arrived with an under-display camera and MIX 5 is slated to arrive only in 2025. It leaves Xiaomi 14 Ultra as the potential taker for the codename “Surien”. Turns out we are already aware of two code names for Xiaomi 14 Ultra i.e. “aurora” and “aurorapro” as spotted on Mi Code signaling there are two different versions. As the codename “suiren” isn’t available on Xiaomi server, it likely represents “aurorapro”.
According to the reports, one of the versions packs an under-display front camera while another resorts to a normal front camera. It remains to be seen which models arrive in China and globally.
Call it a coincident or something of a pre-planned course of action, the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro were codenamed “fuxi” and “nuwa”. Suiren in China is considered as the inventor of artificial fire in ancient China. The “suiren” family was later divided into the “fuxi” and “nuwa” families which is what last year’s Xiaomi 13 and Pro is known as. It puts a lot of gravitas that Surien is likely associated with Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
