Xiaomi has been making Android 11 updates very seriously. It has already released Android 11 across Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, Redmi K30 Pro, and now, Redmi Note 9 Pro joins the wagon. I am talking about the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro variant which is known as Redmi Note 9S globally. Xiaomi has finally released Android 11-based MIUI 12 on the Redmi Note 9 Pro as confirmed by various sources.
Apparently, the update has been rolling out for quite a few days. As it is a batch rollout, users may have to wait for some time to get their hands on the new firmware. The update arrives with the version number MIUI V18.104.22.168.QJWINXM and weighs 2.3GB. The changelog doesn’t mention details on what’s changing but it is worth upgrading to.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro in India was released with Android 10-based MIUI 11 only to get MIUI 12 later. It was earlier expected to get Android 11 sometime in January but seems like Xiaomi did a very good job releasing the Android 11 build a few weeks before adding to the smiles of the users.
You can check if you have intercepted the update or not via Settings >> About Phone >> System Updates. We will add more details about this firmware on Redmi Note 9 Pro once more information is available.
