OnePlus 12 is expected to hit the market later this year in China followed by a global launch early next year. Its specs and CAD-based renders have been leaked several times and the latest puts more light on the progress that OnePlus made wrt the design yes, there’s an alleged upgrade that would make the OnePlus 11 shy in front of OnePLus 12.
OnePlus 12 CAD renders Leaked
The latest CAD renders for the OnePlus 12 brought by tipster OnLeaks and MySmartPrice show the phone in its whole glory. The front looks mesmerizing with an edge-to-edge display with slim bezels and a tiny punch-hole cut-out at the center.
Flip the phone and you get a triple camera assembly housed in a particular camera island that attaches itself to the side panel. Turns out the chrome stainless steel bump at the back as seen in the previous renders has gone. There’s a new component in the camera assembly that we aren’t aware of and might have been added during the prototyping process. As usual, the Hasselblad branding is highlighted on the back since it will calibrate the cameras.
An alert slider sits on the top right alongside the power button. A volume rocker sits on the left. The back panel does have a sandstone finish to it followed by a glossy glass-clad camera bump that looks pretty enticing.
OnePlus 12 Might Get 50W Wireless Charging
OnePlus enthusiasts have been longing for wireless charging support. OnePlus 9 Pro was the last device to have both wired and wireless charging and even the hyper-expensive OnePlus Open remains elusive.
Turns out we could expect a wireless charging support of up to 50W with the OnePlus 12. Reports are suggesting the upcoming flagship is likely to get a 50W tech thanks to AIRVOOC technology albeit you will need a separate charger to tap into the speedy tech. Of course, an 80W fast wired charging tech complements the wireless charging so that you can use it at your convenience. This bit of information was brought to the onboard by tipster Digital Chat Station which means it has some gravitas.
OnePlus 12 Rumoured To Get USB 3.2
The OnePlus 11 was capped at USB-C with data transfer speeds of up to 480Mbps which is paltry given the competition has become fierce. With the OnePlus 12, the BBK-owned firm is expected to bring USB 3.2 with data speeds of up to 5-10 Gbps which is technically manifold. If it materializes, the OnePlus 12 should be able to overcome the shortcomings that the OnePlus 11 had, which is a good thing.
OnePlus 12 Specs (Expected)
When it comes to the specs, analyzing the previous flagships gives a lot about what to expect. OnePlus 12 will be among the first to get Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC (not the first since Xiaomi 14 is taking the title). It will be paired with 256GB storage and 16GB RAM. A 5000mAh battery flanked by 120W wired and 50W wireless charging is expected to be included as well.
We have heard that although the OnePlus 12 uses the same 64MP Omnivision OV64B periscope lens as the OnePlus 11, it will have improved performance. A 50MP primary and a 50MP ultrawide camera will complete the triple assembly at the back while the front is powered by a 32MP snapper. Finally, we have a 6.7” OLED QHD+ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate onboard much like the predecessor.
